Background
Megan Bowser (she/her) is an artist, massage and bodywork therapist and somatics practitioner in Durham, NC.
“As the years have passed, I have realized that some things can be told and others not. Telling diminishes what is told. Only what has been integrated by the human aspect of ourselves can be shared with others. I have also come to believe that things stay alive proportionally to how much silence there is around them. Meaning does not need words to exist.”
–Malidoma Patrice Somé
Megan Bowser (she/they) is a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist (NCLMBT #13426) offering bodywork therapy and somatic coaching. Megan studied at the Body Therapy Institute, earning their Massage Therapy Diploma in 2013. She is a certified mind-body coach and integrative somatic trauma therapist with training in a wide range of clinical, cultural, and spiritual approaches to body-based therapy. Centering care for BIPOC and queer folk, Megan’s practice is trauma-sensitive and rooted in connection with life –the life energy found in the body, in relationship with other living beings, and as part of this larger living world. Megan is also an artist, exploring this connection with our place in the living world through poetry and speculative fiction writing, visual art and site-specific installations, collaborative projects (including parade floats!), and in community with the Southern art visioning collective Art Ain’t Innocent. Their creative, spiritual, and healing arts work aims to support an ever deepening and expanding felt-sense of our aliveness and the creative energy needed to continue to adapt to change. Megan is currently working in private practice in Durham, NC.
