Gathering and Sorting Time
I hope you're finding some full, balanced breaths as we approach the fall equinox on Saturday. (And hope to see you out at Durham's Pride celebrations tomorrow!)
For me, Fall feels like reflection time, gathering and sorting and storing time. A time to feel the collective gratitude and grief of the year. A time to honor all the stretching outward we've been through and a time to prepare for the turning inward in winter.
I'm learning that, like the squirrels I watch outside my office window, I too can collect some of the blessings of summer and save those foods, experiences, skills and insights to support me through the winter ahead. Or at least I'm curious what it would be like to build rituals this fall that include this kind of saving-away of blessings.
How does Fall feel to you? What are you noticing with this changing season? What are you learning?
