Have you ever seen the same sky twice?
Waiting so long for the weight to lift
a force
reversed on this axis
gravity
to be what causes me to stand
now fly,
escape to shake this
dried skin
this light sifted
through sky,
leafless trees turning shadows.
Wished for the other side of hell
until the earth broke open
found to be round,
endless
in all the changing
found faultless,
same as today’s sky
this day’s sky
and the next.
All we have are
shades of blue,
infinite stars
and infinite reasons.
