When you look back,

do not say small things like

a lesson learned. 

See yourself rise,

as if from the replenishment of sleep 

or from the room at the bottom of the

stairs of your own being. 

Choose to look, now with a soft gaze, 

upon yourself. 

Wait for speech. Let the hearing 

you've done all along be your window.
