I am thinking about the colors yellow and purple, mostly yellow.
And the balancing that happens when I make a picture. (Maybe this happens in a similar way for other artists?) When I'm working on something, there is a moment, I'll call it a space, when I have to choose to keep going and risk that something completely horrid might happen to whatever is currently quite pretty looking.
And there is another, similar yet wholly other space... and that's when I know the thing is finished. I say space but really it's more like the feeling in your gut when your falling --maybe like driving a little too fast over an unexpected hill. OK so I don't really feel that in my gut. (Wouldn't that be awful.) But you get what I'm saying.... maybe.
OK, it's really nothing like that. It's more like the first time your gut feels that way and you can never feel the same about gravity again.
And today that kind of smells like yellow.
Like the most beautiful yellow petals.
